"At Krsna Kalalaya, we begin a beautiful journey with every student — a journey filled with joy, curiosity and the full, living essence of Bharatanatyam. This is not just a dance class. This is where your story as a dancer begins."

ABOUT US

"Founded in the United Kingdom by Bharatanatyam exponent Guru Divya Bharathi, Krsna Kalalaya is a classical dance institution dedicated to preserving and sharing the authentic art of Bharatanatyam with joy, devotion and excellence.

OUR MISSION

"We are here to raise the next generation of classical dance artists who do not merely perform, but who live and breathe the art. Above all, we are here to transform — to awaken in every student a deep, personal joy for India's most ancient and divine dance form, so that Bharatanatyam becomes not something they learned, but something they carry within them for life."

MEET OUR ARTISTIC DIRECTOR

"Krsna Kalalaya is the vision of Guru Divya Bharathi — a dancer, performer and choreographer whose love for Bharatanatyam began at the age of eight and has never stopped growing.

Divya Bharathi's journey with Bharatanatyam began in Bahrain, where she took her very first steps into this sacred art form as a young child. Guided by her Guru, she dedicated years of discipline and devotion to mastering the classical tradition — a journey that culminated in her receiving a Diploma in Bharatanatyam from the prestigious Bharathidasan University, one of India's most respected institutions for classical arts.

Her connection to this art is not merely academic or professional — it is deeply, profoundly spiritual. Divya Bharathi has had the rare and blessed privilege of performing in some of the most sacred temple stages in India — including the legendary Chidambaram, the cosmic abode of Nataraja himself. She has offered her art at the divine shores of Guruvayoor, one of the most sacred Krishna temples in the world .

Having carried this art across continents — from the training halls of Bahrain to the sacred temple stages of India — Divya Bharathi arrived in the United Kingdom with a single, burning purpose: to preserve the authenticity of Bharatanatyam and make it accessible to the next generation. She saw a community hungry for cultural roots, children longing for connection and a classical art form that deserved to be kept alive in its truest, most sacred form.

"Traditional in its roots. Transformative in its impact. Sacred in its purpose."
